I thought I could get by without a step to get into my 2018 2500 tradesman but I have changed my mind. (referring to the cab, not bed) Can anyone recommend a not too pricey and easy to install step? If you have something that works good I'd love to hear about it. Photos would be great. Thanks.

Love my steel craft STX 600 running boards. At $200 or less at realtruck I don't know of a better product for a better deal. No gap between truck and boards so safter then other options in my opinion as well. Bolt right on in existing mounting holes.

Thanks, now those have really caught my eye. Nice and wide and lots of options on where to plant your foot getting in and out. Do they feel solid when mounted? I've read a couple reviews that say they feel like they could have used another mounting bracket. Those were not mounted on a Ram though.

I installed a set of Carr Hoop II on my old F150. They were small and inconspicuous, but functional. I weighed around 285 at that time and never had any issues standing g on them.

Since i have a 15' I needed to use some extra hardward they provided to mount them 16 or newer I think that isn't needed since the bolt holes are already in the frame. On the RAM's they mount rock solid and I think they are safter then nerf bars or steps that have a specific place you need to put your foot.

Well, in the end I decided to go with a simple step, but a pretty good sized one. I liked this Carr LD model because they say it hangs a little lower and sticks out a little farther. I'll let you guys make up your own jokes now. ;) Kudos to the folks at CARID for giving a forum member a little break on the price, too.
