I am finally about to start my next round of mods which include getting the ICI Magnum RT Steps. I noticed how they attach and am nervous about them fitting with the Bushwacker Fender Flares I have since the flares come down pretty close to where the bar of the steps ends. Anyone rocking both the Magnum Steps and Fender Flares? Just wanting to ask before I order to avoid the headache of packaging them up and lugging them to fedex office for a return. Thanks!

IMO

Crap...looks really tight to the point where I doubt they'd fit.

The pic you took is not at a good angle to judge.. Take one same as mine.

IMO

This is the best I can do...unfortunately with the paint being black it's next to impossible to see everything. The fender flare uses the furthest front two holes shown in your pic to bolt in, the black plastic piece above the step is where the step mounts are bolted into the truck and that bottom metal panel where the holes in your pic are.

Sorry the flare covers the furthest up front two bolts shown in your pic, didn't realize there were bolts in there. the black plastic piece above the step is bolted in to the two holes you have behind those bolts up front. It looks like the shape of the Magnums up front wouldn't fit unless the angled part of them sits back a little and isn't flush with the fender.

IMO

Yup, they won't fit seeing those other pics. SH$T! Now I guess I need to find something else that is black and looks decent.

I guess I have an excuse to get AMP Powersteps installed now...nothing that will fit looks decent and if the guy installing the AMPS has to mod stuff that'll be on him not me.

@RAMblin1217 do you have a build thread or would you mind giving some details on your lift? I have a 2" level kit is all. Have the steps your looking at too, need to get the truck off the ground a bit. Sometimes I look at it and think I can live with it, I have wondered recently if I got some Bilstein 5100's and bring the rear up 1" it could be okay. But most of the time I think a 6" lift would take it from awesome to badass! I always figured on 6" lift but yours looks great!

Don't have a detailed build thread but here is what ya need to know...

Unfortunately when I bought my truck I dealt with the son of the owner of the dealership. He being the cocky jerk that he was said that he would void my warranty if I got anything besides a "Mopar" lift. Of course this is totally illegal but I just felt it would be easier to keep him happy and not have to deal with fighting him over stuff if anything breaks down and needs to be repaired. Soooo that being said...

I have a 4" "Mopar"/Superlift without the Bilstein shocks, hence the rake of the truck. I had another dealership install it since I'm not very mechanical and didn't want to mess anything up. I put 20x10 -24mm offset Fuel Hostage rims and 35x12.5r20 Nitto Trail Grapplers on it. The truck has the usual 2-3" rake which you obviously fixed with your leveling kit, that being said, if you got the bils which EVERYONE does, you can adjust them to 2.8 and be level again.

I like the 4" since I don't think it's obnoxious looking and it's also not very hard to get in and out of. I'm 5'10-5'11",depending on which Taco Bell I'm at, I can't fathom trying to get in and out of a 6" lift with bigger tires. Does 6" look cool...heck yeah! If you're taller or not worried about climbing in and out of something that high up, go for it. I work a job that requires me to be in and out of the truck 20-30 times a day, so I'm glad I have the 4". I actually was going to get a 6" BDS with Fox shocks but, again, the owners son made me just not want to have to fight to get warranty stuff done.

UPDATE:

PS Thanks! I appreciate the compliment!

It's 2" higher lol.. You make it sound like you need a ladder for 6" lifts .

IMO

Well 2" can be a lot depending on what you're measuring haha. Plus had I got a 6" lift I would have done 37" tires which would have lifted it even more.

For me, having to step another 4" up to get to my step would be a pretty big difference. Think about it in the sense of regular steps on a house...the average step is no taller than 7.75" max, so what if every time you had to go up your stairs you had to step up 11.75" each step? that's a pretty significant difference.

Now, as I said, I get in and out of my truck 20-30+ times a day which is probably 25 times more than most people. If your job doesn't require you to get in and out often and you're taller than I am...6" is worth it. Plus if I had the 6" lift there is nooooo way my dog could get in the truck without me lifting him up haha.

P.S. I use a ladder to get into my bed now when I'm washing the rear glass or top of the truck...it's a bit of a jump in and out of the bed and my fat butt doesn't want to slip and fall or land funky and break something.

Well thanks for making me feel like a broken ****** haha. I blew out both my knees playing football in HS so that's another reason I like the 4". I actually tried to join the marines right after 9/11 and my hearing was to poor to enlist, I was really mad. I also barely was able to keep up with the guys I did PT with while getting in shape before the physical due to my knees. Thank you for your service to the country!

You guys are hilarious!

So in my very limited knowledge on suspension lifts, any kind of lifts what would be a cost effective yet good quality kit? I may as well do 6" if I am doing it right? And the 5100 shocks work with whatever lift?

I do see the point of getting in your truck so much it's annoying. My wife is 5ft flat and before steps with just leveling kit she had hard time.
