Installing OEM electric brake controller

Seriously the stupidest thing over ever seen in my 2016 Ram 1500 Hemi 4x4 except for the fact that it didn’t have the tow package in the first place.

All 3 screws install from the backside where there is no room for a ratchet wrench or fingers. Even trying to gain access from the radio bezel was useless.

The threaded end should have been in the dash structure not the bracket. Then it would be a 10 minute job. If you ask me this $8 bracket should be permanently installed from the factory on ever Ram. The. It would just be a matter of pop in the module, plug in and install the dash switch and re flash.

Dealership quoted $115 to reflash my computer. I’m going to wait until I go in for the cruise control recall re flash to hopefully save some money.

I still need the towing mirrors and I need to find out if the truck has an auxiliary tranny cooler or if that’s an add on too.

I’ve got the E-Trailer Draw Tite Untra Frame trailer hitch rated for 12,000 lbs.

I bought used controller(came with brake controller box, bracket, screws) used cheap on eBay, under $50, then a new switch for under $30, flash was the most expensive. Agree, screws in back was a really dumb idea and nearly impossible, not to mention the neck pain from trying to see up in there, really sucked. But I like it more than the plug in p3, gives me knee room now and electronic sway control.
