It's gonna be a long drive.

Bolt on exhaust... Keep the carven and when the 7 hour family trip comes, bolt the stock exhaust back on. Best of both worlds.

I wish it was that easy. Too much planning is needed. If only it was v-band...
I really am not looking forward to pulling the progressive off (which means putting the stock one back on), only to the reverse the process again when I order the Maggie.

If you do it semi-regularly and use power tools it's not going to be close to the amount of work it takes to remove for the 1st time :naughty:

And if you really have to go on an impromptu 7 hr trip, it's not like the truck would not be driveable at all with the Carven :roflsquared:

I have the mufflex 24" and am happy. Is just what the truck needs. I have a mustang with long tube headers and flow master 40 series so I know drone. The 24" mag is quiet at cruise and just the right tone when you get on it. I wanted something quieter to hear the radio. I recommend it.

Mufflex makes a drone suppression kit that you may want to try first. Don't know anything about it, but there may be some info on one of the forums.

The j-pipe would require some hacking, again, trying to keep it bolt on.

No welding. Like the ability to bolt it back to stock if needed.
Like I said, I love the Carven for when I am driving, but when it is me and the fam on a 7 hour drive, I don't feel like it fits. That may only be 5% of the trucks usage, but it's not worth it to have a pissed off wife after getting out of the truck following a multi hour drive.
I don't know about you, but in my experience the wife is usually 55% of any situation. If momma isn't happy, you wont be either soon.
So probably not a 5% usage issue.........

+1 Its why I still ship all my parts to my work or parents house. She gets curious with multiple boxes showing up... then we discuss cost, and if its really a necessity.. etc.

Seems easier to just install it on the DL lol

I hear ya, and gave a lot of thought to doing the same.
Of course, that's kinda like cheating on her, only with your truck instead of another woman
Likely how she'd see it anyway...What's a guy to do?

She tried to play it off yesterday like it was up to me whether i took the carven off and/or replaced it with the Mufflex Maggie. We all know there is no way it is my decision once she's made up her mind that she dislikes the drone (at least the married guys know).
To be completely honest, the drone did bug me a little too, but i think i could have lived with it if i were the only one in the truck on a long trip. With passengers, it's a diff. story.
Missed the window to get the Maggie here by this weekend, so the stocker will go on, sell off the carven, and then i'll buy and install the new option a little down the road.
Another long trip with the fam to go camping in a couple of weeks, so i'll appreciate being drone free.
