I recently bought a used 2018 Ram 2500 Laramie with the 18" wheels, polished Aluminum I do believe.
My son has a 2015 Big Horn, 2500 with the 20" wheels, his truck only has 20k miles on it and the wheels are still in perfect shape. I think they would look better but can't convince myself to swap. Mine are solid aluminum wheel, his have the little plastic inserts but are otherwise identical.
I've checked prices and the 20" tires average about $80-110 more per tire, that's a big strike, and the plastic inserts cannot be taken out or you can see the screw holes. The tires on the 20's are a little bigger, about .4" taller and .4" wider. 18' are: 275/70 R18 his are: 20's are 285 /60 R20

Anyone done this, Opinions? 20's would look good, tires are more $$$, any problems with the plastic inserts?
Will it make it ride rougher?
Thanks

Smaller rims and larger side wall give a bit of a smoother ride, larger rims and shorter side walls give better handling. Will you notice the difference ? Possibly. Living in southern Illinois, you could run dedicated snow tires in the winter and keep a set mounted for the rest of the year. Just my 2 cents.

Just curious, why are his wheels available? Is he buying new ones? If so take his old ones, put them on yours & go for a drive.
