I’ve been slammed at work and finally got a day off so I knocked out a few truck projects.

Started to install the factory tow hooks I picked up a few months back. I got sick of wrestling with the active air dam and removed it freeing up space behind the bumper. The tow hook install completed without issue. ******* the active air dam connector in a weather protective pouch (plastic bag) and hit the road for a 30 mile drive. No appreciable difference in gas mileage. Half way home, the CEL kicked on for the active air dam.

Second project was to pay for an AlfaOBD license. I bought the security bypass cable, OBD2 Bluetooth adapter and connected everything and abandoned the project. The CEL gave me the reason to buy a license so I could turn off the Active Air Dam in the BCM. No more CEL. I also to.d the truck tow hooks were installed.

Last project was to run through a car wash. Twice a year isn’t bad….

I get slammed by the weather, even though I have ample project time (I'm retired). Snow, rain, freezing rain, wind, and cold make working on outside projects no fun. I've tried several times to talk the wife into moving south, but I haven't had any luck. She isn't going to leave her—well, our—grandbabies.
