Asked a local shop how much to install a couple Bilstein 5100s the front and a Airlift 1000 setep in the back...

With alignment they said $650. That's labor only... I would supply parts.

Does that seem about right? High? Low? I have no clue so figured I'd check.

Thanks!

Not sure but that's not a bad price.. I just priced all 4 Bils, 2 front arms, level kit, and alignment... $1300 + tax, installed. I'm in North Texas.

I can do the work, other than alignment... Just hoped for a better price. Feeling kinda lazy.

Take $150 off for the alignment, and that’s $500 ... At $100 an hour, that’s 5 hours ... 3 front, 1 rear ... Looks to be about $100 high ... Unless they are $125 an hour, which would be high for OH, but maybe not else where

Exactly the reason i did forced myself to learn how to install shocks, control arms etc etc. and youtube was me teacher. I only paid for parts and alignment and i'm not a mechanic at all. I have around $2600 on shocks alone, $500 for the UCA's $280 for rear springs. Some of the offroad shops around here will look at adjustable coilovers and they'll think right away that's an extra $300-$400 on the initial install because they're sure you'll come back and ask them to adjust the CO's height on the fly.
If you had an idea how much they charge to install shocks and springs on a Jeep Wrangler which i think is just as easy or easier compared to how it's in the RAM 1500 you'll learn too... lol at least that's the driving force behind my thoughts.

Look in youtube. Its not that complicated if you have some tools and you're not affraid to get dirty, you're still capable of doing that type of work and you have some time to get down there..., it's a fun job for the most part and thinking how she will look after you're done with it will give you the courage, plus think about it.... you can use the $650 toward a set of tires after you're done :)

Have fun either way. $650 is not bad but damn it hurts if you can do it yourself and pocket that money.
