Quick question, my wife is getting me a bedliner for Christmas and I recently received this quote from Line-X. I have a BAK flip VP and I was wondering if the standard package is sufficient or do I need the upgrade package (UV Protection)? I'm not interested in color matching:

Line-X Pro is our new standard black liner, that can be applied in about two hours, and costs $495.00, under the rail, on*a short bed Ram. *The only rail cap that can be coated on this truck is the rail cap by the cab (bulkhead).*Line-X Platinum is our new black U.V. resistant bed liner option, that can be applied in about 2.5 hours, and will add $150.00 to the Pro bed liner package pricing. Line-X*Xtra*Gen II is our new U.V. resistant color matched bed liner option, using your trucks factory paint code, and will add $350.00 to the Pro bed liner package pricing. *Line-X*Xtra*Gen II has a 3 to 4 hour application time frame due to the application of an additional*Polyurea*clear coat that adds additional strength and U.V. stability to the bed liner. *All of our bed liners come with the a*Nationwide Lifetime Warranty*which is the only one offered in our industry and*is backed by over 450 Line-X locations across the country..

I went with the standard. I have a Bakflip G2 cover, therefore I saw no need whatsoever for UV protection.

Almost a year in now, it's still as black as the day it was sprayed! :)

If you have a cover, you should be fine. My last truck had Line-X, I did the regular because its a TRUCK and I used it as such. I threw concrete blocks, firewood, trash, mulch, gravel, tree limbs, etc in the bed. The truck bed should look a little used, in my opinion. I'll be damned if I will spend twice as much money to make it look pretty...

That being said, I wonder if some 409 or some "Back to Black" conditioner would restore the look for those that care how the bedliner looks...
