I grabbed two complete doors off of a 2013 Ram 1500 and want to swap the door carriers containing the power window motor and locks to my 2011 Ram 1500 with manual windows and locks. Has anyone done this? Is it plug and play or do I need a Dealer flash on the computer? (Yes, I know it is a pain to remove and install the door carriers.)

i did this back in the early 00's on a chevy s-10. what i did then was use the door internals like you have for the motor and lifting device, then i used aftermarket switched to control them.

95% of window motors are simply 2 wires. one goes to 12+ the other goes to ground, and switches when you press the button the other way.

the locks should be the same also, but where you may run into issues is if you want to use the factory switches those go back to the BCM. and more than likely the programming is above the dealer level.

They still make these with manual locks and windows??

Yes they do.

I'm a bit surprised too. Seems that it would cost as much to not put them in and have to deal with the less than 1% that would be so equipped.

Another oddity is that you can get these trucks with vinyl instead of carpet....and they don't knock off any $$$$ when they do that.
