Ain't that the truth!!Old saying -- The Big print giveth, and the small print taketh away.
Have you tried carfax to see if they can get you the service history, on my old 06 dodge truck using its VIN they even knew when I had work done at independant shops?I’m currently debating a Mopar warranty. Factory 3/36 is coming up on April 10. my dilemma is i bought it used from Carmax with just under 15k miles. No records from previous owner so the first oil change on record is when Carmax got it. i don’t want to pay for it only to have claims denied later because I can’t prove oil changes before I got it. Can’t get a straight answer from anyone at Ram or find a previous related thread on the forum.
Would love to get some feedback.
Yes sir, I believe I have it. I’ve got all the info Carmax had on it, including the Carfax report. There aren’t any service records between the original titling at 441 miles and Carmax purchasing at auction with 14,692.Have you tried carfax to see if they can get you the service history, on my old 06 dodge truck using its VIN they even knew when I had work done at independant shops?
If Carfax through Carmax did not show service records its a wild guess if the oil had ever been changed in the 14K it was owned by someone, there is a chance it was service at a shop that does not supply records that Carfax has access to, but it would worry me when it comes time for engine warranty as all warranty company's including Ram all look for excuses to not cover high cost repairs and oil changes in a big one they look at when it comes to internal engine repairs like cam and lifters. I can almost guarantee you that you will never get a straight answer from anyone at Ram about it. Good Luck........Yes sir, I believe I have it. Are you saying Carfax may have additional logs to what Carmax had? It wouldn’t hurt to reach out to them. Thanks for the suggestion.
Between heater cores, electronics, A/C systems, manifolds, etc, etc, it may still make sense to purchase the extended warranty regardless.
