Bought a 68 D100 in Texas recently, advertised as a 318. The guy did alot of jacked up work to it but it seemed like a fixable nightmare. But today I've run into the problem of, I no longer believe its a 318 or at least not an original 318. The new valve covers dont fit. The radiator set up is wrong. There are random vacuum lines that lead to no where and occasionally some of them return to the original port it came from. I have found some numbers inside the head and on the intake manifold. Can anyone help me figure out at least what I'm working with.

Head: 027183
Manifold: 89 81 9

Update i located the engine block number, its a 318 off 75-93' Dodge

The engine bay has so much extra work done to it and a bunch of excess hoses and wires.

Just an observation, you maybe could Otta relocate them wires sitting on the fan shroud, looks like they could easily get damaged,or melted. I like your truck a lot, wanna sell.?

Very likely the "excess hoses and wires" are all emmisions related which is probably why they're all just hanging out.

If it were me I'd clean it up a bit, but if its running fine and you're okay with it then it's probably not hurting anything.

Is it running okay?
