New guy here (not to forums) from NM. I recently got rid of a 4g Ram and picked up a 2g from a buddy and noticed this site has a pretty active 2g section, unlike some other forums. The truck I now have is a 2000 Ram 2500 QCSB 4x4, 360 v8, NV4500HD 5 speed, Dana 60's front and rear. I've done a few maintenance things on it since I got it (ball joints, changed front diff oil to fix leaking cover, etc) but the one bigger thing I did was bedline the rockers and flares. I had done this on a previous truck, so I used the leftover product (Duplicolor Bed Armor with Kevlar). Overall, I'm very happy with this truck, and since I'm not using it as a daily driver, hopefully it will last me a good long while.

Here's my 4g......it was a 2010 that I put almost 40k miles on in a 1 1/2 years.

Here is the 2g I have now......as I picked it up about a month ago, and current.

Welcome!
What sort of "apples for apples" differences do you notice between the 4/2 gens?

Welcome to Ram Forum. I laugh that you're from Estancia.
I always think of the movie "The Three Amigos" and picture them there.

I'm super jealous of the 2G you picked up.
I was talking about near that identical truck last night.

That's the perfect combination in my book. I'm mad jelly!

Thanks for the welcome everyone! Cool to see another NM member on here.

As far as the differences from the 4g to the 2g........they are really night and day. The 4g is smooth, powerful, and fast with a great interior. The 2g is a 2500, so it is more of a work truck, rides ok for an HD but is not near as smooth, and the 360 is slow compared to the HEMI, although the low end torque is good. The interior is comfortable and functional, but no where near as nice as the 4g. For my current needs, the 2g is a much better choice, but I would love another 4g sometime!

Welcome from Pennsylvania! I've spent some time in NM in my younger years. Great looking pair of trucks you got there! I miss my '97 Laramie SLT
