Hi all...figured I'd introduce myself...I'm in sunny so cal. A few years back I owned a blacked out 03 cal special hemi truck...beautiful truck, but I had to get rid of it for cash...I've been wanting another one ever since.
I finally just got a new job that required me to purchase a vehicle, so I found a used 05 4x4 hemi with 69k miles and picked it up on payments....truck is flawless, it's beautiful...I love that it's not black (black is sick looking but so hard to take care of) I love that I have cloth seats this time and won't burn myself on the hot leather, and I love the lack of the wood trim inside, and of course the 4x4....
What's strange is this truck has supposedly the same gear ratio as my old truck....trak lok 3.92 rear, and same 20" factory wheels, but I don't get why this truck feels like it's got so much more bottom end power, and why it wants to bark the tires all the time....the trak lok works so well, I almost wonder if a locker was swapped in.
Anyhow, I'm not digging the 20's on a 4x4...anyone swap them out for factory 17s? If so, what size tire did you put on it so that it came out to about the same height as the old 20's? ALso, I want to pick up a leveling kit for the front end, but for some reason 1500 4x4 trucks seem excluded in the kits i've seen...
