Hi all,
Just wanted to introduce myself and give a brief description of my vehicle history.
The past about 10 years or so, I’ve been into the euro scene. I’ve always drove Volkswagen’s and Audi’s. Lowered them, tuned, exhaust, etc. I had 2 beater trucks during this time. A 97 F150 and a 04 Ram with the magnum. These were basically just used in the winter months and whenever I needed to pick up some large items.
Last Thursday I traded in my 2010 Audi for a Ram 1500 Classic Warlock Quad Cab with the 5.7 Hemi. Only options I added was the 8.4” uconnect with the 7” cluster, rubber mats, running boards and the class iv hitch. My friend is the GM at the dealer I bought it from and got a great deal between my trade in and OTD price.
Very different world compared to my past, but I’m loving this truck. Being up high and not having to worry about every little imperfection in the road feels so good. I’m impressed with the ride quality as well. Also the gas mileage really isn’t as bad as I thought. I came from a tuned 93 octane Audi and although it was 4 cylinder, she was pretty thirsty. This truck really isn’t much worse. The dial shifter is weird and takes a little while to get used to. I find myself adjusting the volume knob instead at times lol.
Things I’d like to do to the truck soon are new tires as these street tires aren’t doing it for me. Any recommendations on brand and size? The Warlock is lifted 1” from factory so I should be able to get a decent tire. I’m thinking of also just getting a bed mat for now and a tonneau cover. Get a spray in down the road. I found a nice hard cover on amazon which seems to be a good price. Let me know what you guys think
