Hey All,
Always wanted a second Gen Ram and after I sold my 2015 GMC and bought a Subaru WRX I decided it was time to buy one as it took only a few weeks of missing a truck. Trolled craigslist and other sites for the past few months and found one.
Amazingly only 38k miles when I bought it. Body is in great shape for a New Hampshire truck.
The frame is solid with just surface rust in the typical spots and I plan on touching it up with a rust neutralizer/frame paint.
The big thing that I would like to do would be to lift the old girl up as my six year old would be as happy about it as me. Also while in there redo the steering as it has some typical slop. I read through the whole thread for lifting second generation rams and while the info is terrific I would like to get opinions on what should be done while the front and rear ends are apart and also what parts are recommended. Will be driven mostly on road.
I'm thinking a 5 inch lift with 33-34's, going five inch as it will make me replace more parts. (Help me spend my money lol).
So these two kits seem like where I am at now

And I'm guessing this kit won't be any good with a 5 inch lift, but to give an idea of what I'm thinking on rebuilding the steering.

I saw that the drive ratio is 3.5 and am curious if being a manual trans will make it ok for 33-34 inch tires.
Not opposed to doing damn near everything for the front end, hubs etc.. as well so recommendations there would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Matt
