Ok guys. I admit it. I have the fever. I just literally installed a Vararam, 87mm Moe's PTB, and a Diablo Trinity. I'm still waiting on the Hemifever tune to arrive.

Now. Don't get me wrong. I'm seeing impressive gains and haven't even flashed the HF tune yet.

And I still have to install my e-fan, 180 degree tstat, and Magnaflow catback.

However. I've got money burning a hole but still can't bring myself to spend about $4.5k more for everything I eventually want. So I'm thinking about how to split it up some.

I currently have 3.55 gears and an open diff. I can't imagine having power and spinning one tire. So eventually I've got to fix that. And here are the adds I'm looking at.

3.92 gears (I know I've gotta do front and back. I'm not thinking of lifting and putting bigger tires on so this seems like the right choice?)
LSD - I'm thinking Detroit TrueTrac
Edge 2800 stall TC

OR

ARH 1 3/4" longtubes with cats

Would you do the transmission stuff first?

Or the longtubes.

I am thinking one or the other will keep my costs down for now.

Hit me!!

I would definitely do the gears and lsd next. See my mods... I am spinning tire(s) like crazy and will be having 4.10s and lsd installed this coming week.

If you are thinking of going 3.92 gears why not just do 4.10s?

Edge 2800 WAS going to be my next mod, but that would have just added to my lack of traction. I will be doing the Edge tc AFTER the gears-lsd, and new wider wheels and tires. :)

Once you get the HF tune in you should have really good power.

BTW, nice choice of mods!

I've done everything on your list and then some,
well, pretty much every mod on everyone's list

Still have an open rear diff and 3.55's

:hidesbehindsofa:

It's perfectly fine for 4x4 Rams with the 4-Auto option
The transfer case will only engage the front driveshaft if rear wheel slip is detected.
(set it and forget it,and drive it just like a Full Time AWD)

Once traction is regained and all wheel speed sensors are equalized it automatically reverts back to rear wheel drive.

I've used it for drag racing since 2010,
and most recently with a 500WHP Supercharger
and an Edge TC that hits 3400 rpm at full throttle launch.

I get a slight chirp at launch, front engages, grabs and goes like a bat outta hell (1.7's for my 60' times)

...never have a one-wheel-peel.

Don't get me wrong, a gear swap and Detroit TruTrac are on my list,
just that its the last on my list, maybe later this year.

It's the one mod don't trust myself to DIY (everything else was)
and they **** 4x4 owners up here (Quoted $3300+ 2 years ago)

in comparison, my supercharger (almost 200 whp over stock) was only $3700

Great feedback guys, thanks!

So it seems like the consensus is gears and LSD with the TC.

But.... If I go with BlackRam and I have 4WD-Auto and let's pretend I don't care about one tire fire.....

What would I see the most gains out of performance-wise?

The transmission upgrades or the longtubes?

Putting the gear swap and lsd aside...

I would vote for the long tubes to go in with your magnaflow. Labor wise this would make sense, too.
I have the JBA shorties, but I am hearing great stuff about the new JBA LTs.

Well.... I just installed the catback today. I love the sound. But am a little bugged about how it doesn't line up right.

The tip on the driver's side won't center in the hole in the bumper no matter how I twist and turn all parts. You'd think they would get the bends right for the money you spend.

I'm still happy overall, but am going to have to take it by a shop to see if they can tweak it just a little.

I'm leaning more towards the LSD, gears, and TC right now. Just seeing how much my shop will charge for install. Not something I'll do on my own!
