Mirror upgrades are done - quick and easy to swap them over, and AlfaODB made quick work of enabling all the features! Tilt in Reverse, autodim, signal turns, puddles, etc all working! :). And, the chrome looks much better then I expectd since I have chrome grill, handles, stpes, clads, etc.

Thanks to @Mpgrimm2, @Ghost_RAM, @Ricks Ram and @kad (And Benny!) for the help along the way!

I am wanting to perform this upgrade. I have non powerfolding tow mirrors. I I know I need “premium tow mirrors” and those have the chrome covers on them. I know I need both door modules and a new door switch and also the sales code activated.

Does the chrome cover come off? Can I disassemble both the premium chrome and textured mirrors and put the black textured piece from my current mirrors on the premium?

I don’t have any chrome on my truck. It’s an express. It has body color grill and bumpers and black textured door handles and mirrors. I don’t want chrome mirrors. But I have only seen the premium power folding mirrors available in chrome.

You only need the premium mirrors if you want the Auto-Dim and Tilt-In Reverse functions. Both would require other upgrades to enable as well. If all you want is power folding tow mirrors with turn and puddle lights (heated & power adjust are assumed) then you don't need the premium chrome mirrors, you can get black ones.

Dropped my truck off to get leather seats this AM, and I just watched the tech grab my new power fold mirror and crank it closed manually . Man o man I hope they are tolerant of manual folding on occasion...

Mine are, but what I have found is that is you manually fold one, you need to manually UN-fold it before using the power fold button again. The mechanism inside needs to be re-engaged by the manual unfold.

Seems to be working fine, maybe they manually folded it back before I got there.

Makes sense, they didn't know/care it had power fold and manualy folded it in, then they manually folded it out too.

Just did the power folding upgrade on my 2016 eco, loving it. Now who needs a pair of OEM manual folding chrome tow mirrors hahahaha
