Just got my truck less than two weeks ago and I want to put a more aggressive tire and leveling kit on it. I have read that 35s could fit, but honestly looking for closer to a 34 inch tire just a little bigger than the stock tires but more aggressive then the crap tires that come stock.

Anyone have pictures of tires on a newer Ram that measure right at 34 and do I need a leveling kit to fit them? I see the Pro Comp tires measure 33.9 in diameter.

A lot of people on this forum have 275/65s on them either stock or leveled. They usually measure 34"-34.5"

I would add the Bilstein struts at 2.1" lift and run 295/60R20 or 295/65R20 depending on tire manufactures specs (some spec different than calculated).

I have the Rough Country level on mine and I can fit 35's(Mickey Thompson Deegan 38) with very minimal rub. I am adding hub centric 1.25" wheel spacers to fix that and add a nice looking stance.

Keep in mind if you go any wider than a 295 you MAY need to run .25" wheel spacer. The wider tires can rub the control arm around the upper ball joint or rub at full lock on swaybar etc. Some members don't rub and some do, all trucks seem to have different tolerance plus some tires with aggressive sidewalls are wider. Just be prepared to run spacer if needed or ask your tire shop for a test fit if you go 12.50's

Okay I talked to my local shop today and they are ordering the Bilstiens for me and a 1 inch block for the back just in case. They said they would set the Bilstiens at the highest for me and give me there opinion on if they think everything will be okay and we ordered the 1 inch for the back in case I need it to still obtain the level or small rake stance. If they don't think it is a good idea or any other mods need to be made they will go ahead and set it at 2.1 for me while I am there.

Thoughts?

My opinion, I like mine at 2.1. I kept a small rake for the front, just for when I add a trailer. Also, I didn't have to mess with the rear end at all. If you plan on going with the 2.8 set up, you may want to upgrade the upper control arms also. Some people do, some don't. There have been 1 or 2 instances where there were ball joint issues with the highest setting, but I think it's rare.

What tire size are you planning on? 275/65 usually run somewhere in the 34" range. 285/65 will be in the 34.5" range. My plan is to run Nitto Terra Grappler G2 in the 285/65-20 size. They are the only one out of the big 3 that have a warranty.

2.1 is my plan but since they are willing to look at it with me and I trust them we are going to look at it with it at 2.7 or .8 can't remember which it was. If the higher setting works I plan on trying a 35x12.5. If not then I am looking at the same Nittos or the Cooper since they both have warranties.
