Opposite normal front bumper question

I currently have a 96’ gen 2 2WD. I see most want to switch a regular bumper over to a sport, however, I am thinking of switching from sport to regular. I have a brush guard is like to put on, but it’s for non sport models. As far as I can tell simply changing the bumper should solve that problem.

Question is, if I just unbolt the sport bumper from the frame, I should be able to simply bolt the regular style bumper (with new mounts) back in to the frame?

I believe the 96 sport bumper is simply a regular bumper... just painted body color. Later trucks had an actual different bumper

No this has a completely different look and is a one piece cover. The regular bumpers I’m talking about consist of a chrome center plastic romp and bottom prices and inserts for fog lights. Here’s some pics of what I have now.

I believe that's a later sport bumper... I want to say 99? My 96 is a "Sport" (AGG code on my under hood decal)... but has a body color "standard" bumper.

You are correct. My code on the sticker says same thing but this one has been switched out. Today I peeled it off and have it up for sale. Went this direction now. Just waiting on the plastics to come in to finish her off. Added the nerf bars to her too. Next up is check with my tire guy to see if I can squeeze 285/70/17 under her without any trouble.
