Started with a bad spark plug code. When I opened the hood I found a hose just dangling from firewall. Wrapped it with duct tape. It was the vapor purge harness which is discontinued. Had 3 mechanics refuse to even try to fix it. Managed to piece a new one together from 3 similar kits of other makes of vehicles. Then p0456, P0420, P0139, C1000 & U 0401 codes. I've had cat replaced both O2 sensors on bank 1. P0139 still comes up. Should I get a certain brand of sensor because my truck is prejudice?

OEM Only on O2 sensors. Also If was my truck I would replace all 4 sensors. Both upstream and both downstream. Just make sure U put the correct one in each location.

Switched to OEM. Third set of sensors. Still throwing code p0139! Been told now that I need a leak test done. Even the expensive scanner the mechanic plugged in said failed sensor.

Maybe "failed wiring / connector" somewhere, making the scanner "see" a failed sensor.

Can't say how many 100's of connectors I repaired over the years. Corroded pins, pins pushed out of connector, wire corroded / broken off pin.
