Well in the last week or so, I've incurred a few obvious paint chips down to the primer on the top of the left front fender and another on the left A-pillar beside the windshield. As the truck is still very new to me I've been washing it regularly when it's not sub-arctic outside, so I know these chips weren't there previously or when I bought the truck several weeks ago. Damnit! There's no metal deformation, just three or four little 1-2mm chips out of the paint.

I'm looking for PBJ Hydro Blue Pearl, and all I can get at Canadian Tire is PB3 Intense Blue Pearl. I've been in to Canadian Tire, Part Source, Car Quest. I've looked on the NAPA website and can't seem to find the PBJ paint repair pens. Dupli-Color or any other brand. Does anyone have a line on where to get just a pen (in Canada)? I don't want to buy spray bombs, I just need a little drop of paint in the chip mark.

Thanks,

I recommend using that website Just type in your vehicle detail and they will give you the exact paint color code They have everything including a paint pen

Did you try a Ram dealer part’s department?

I have had good luck with Paintscratch.com. I have used their paint on several vehicles and it always matched perfectly.

For both of my Ram's (then 19, and now 23') I had the headlights / fog lights / A-pillars/ top portion of the roofline from the top of the windshield to about 10"+ back along the roof, and added a nice full size AVS front hood guard as well.

I've purchased mine from ebay. just type in your make and paint code and it should come up. And they were Factory pens too. Here's a link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/3147180298...D7E37+4KZ8BEc/D5Me4h2xSGK0|tkp:Bk9SR5rzyYOoZw

JfromC,
One VERY IMPORTANT point to be aware of in this situation is, there are TWO PBJ paint codes for the Jeep/Chrysler/Dodge system. In their infanite wisdom, there is a PBJ paint code for JEEP and there's one for all the rest of that manufacturers vehicles.

The PBJ for Jeep, and possibly your Ram truck is Hydro Blue Pearl coat. The PBJ paint code for the rest is Atlantic Blue Pearl. And trust me, those are TWO DIFFERENT COLORS OF BLUE!!! Just make sure that, if you actually order some paint to be blended, that it's the correct Hydro Blue Pearl coat and not the other one. I know, I had a quart mixed for a specific job and when I opened the can, it was more closer to Navy Blue than Hydro Blue Pearl coat.

And by the way, Hydro Blue Pearl coat is a THREE STAGE PAINT so, if you have it made, be aware of that.

I went to a Chrysler dealer (Ram and Jeep lot) and ordered a PBJ paint pen, and the parts desk staff specified "Hydro Blue Pearl?" and I said yes.

Thanks,

I had PPF installed above the windshield, because my past two Rams had paint chips (I didn't notice until the rust bubbles formed) right above the glass where the roof's sheet metal turns down at a 90ish degree angle to go behind the glass.

Also I installed a deflector, it was my plan from the start but I got this truck around New Year and I wasn't excited to be doing that outside in the deep freeze (no garage).

(I think I'm going to get the front and rear bumpers Line-X'ed or similar also.)

Here's my experience with my brand new Hydro Blue DC650: there was a paint repair done at the factory. When I removed the stripes, it took the clearcoat with it! Not the kind of thing you want to see on a truck with less than 200 miles. Ram will repaint it on their dime.

The lower left spot was flat paint. The left rear door has overspray all over it. Not good. The white truck depicts where the stripes were.

What brand hood protector is that ?
It looks like it should do a good job .
Where did you get it from , I also like that it appears flat black. Thanks.

I've used the same model on my past two Rams. I bought them online, local selection here is rather crap. Yes it's flat/matte black. I like the look, others might feel it's not subtle enough.

EGR Superguard Hood Guard Matte Finish Fits Dodge, Ram SKU: 302655
(Look for EGR 302655 on Amazon or other accessories stores.)
