Very nice! I'm gonna redo mine this summer with some new badges and Mopar matched paint.

Looks AWESOME! I am trying to get all chrome off my truck and been trying to think of something to do with the emblems and you just made up my mind!

Used self etching primer, satin black krylon fusion and krylon fusion clear. Think I'm gonna redo it with the color match paint on the background and some gloss black on the rams head.

these the same materials you used?

It's definitely something you could do yourself. I felt the same way when I started mine. You just need a little patience on the rear one is all.

Patience is correct! I did my front silver and black. The back being one piece is harder and I tried liquid masking but I just couldn't get it looking clean enough for my liking so made it all brilliant black. Yours turned out looked really good....nice work

I tried just liquid mask first, but couldn't get straight lines, like the top part of the badge below. So I used a combination of tape and liquid mask. I taped, then filled in with liquid mask and peeled the tape before the liquid mask dried. It gave me some pretty clean lines.

Nobody around here knew what liquid mask was. Could have ordered it but didn't want to wait so I just used tape and an exacto knife.

Wow those badges looks friggin awesome!! Sell that idea to Ram why don't you...

I'd love to see them make another special edition truck like the SRT with a custom look. The blue oval company now has an appearance package you can buy that comes with a matted mesh stripe, grill, headlights and wheels all in black. I'm not crazy about their stripe but the rest looks good. Ram needs an appearance package as well. We have a better looking truck to begin with.

I ended up finding it at a mom and pop hobby shop.

Same method as debadging. It's just held on with 3M tape. There are two pegs that get in the way, but they don't snap or clip to anything. I used fishing line as much as I could then just pulled.

Really like the new look. Can't wait to order up a new rear badge and try it.

Going for the tritonal (get the reference?) look.
Ram's head stays chrome, the edge goes black and the background goes lime green.
Need to buy a new hobby knife to get nice clean cuts
