Projector Headlight Conversion Questions

Hey all ... New to the Forum and Ram Community. I have the OEM Quad lights on my Ram Express but really want the projectors. I want to make sure I'm doing this right and am not missing anything obvious so would love some input.

From my research, I need to just purchase the:

1. Black Projector Headlights (Preferably TYC or OEM) *Picture attached for reference.

2. Projector Conversion Harness from Headlight Revolution

Anything else I am missing or will need to do? I can add an HID kit later on I assume.

Lastly, any vendors on here that have a better price on those products that I can support?

I believe that’s all you need and you can add HID’s later.

What year is your truck and can you link me to the ones you bought? Basically everything I look at says 2013-2015 ... I have a 2018. I spoke to guys who make the conversion harness and they said to be safe buy 2016+ because there's something different with the bulb housing....not really sure...

I dont think they changed anything with the bulb housing it was more the canbus system that changed from 2015 to 2016 which is much more picky with bulb out messages.

I would also suggest if you want to do HIDs to do a FXR retrofit or you could always wait for the new morimoto xb headlights they are coming out with. Quad LED bi-projector and priced around $1250. They look to be pretty crazy. I have retrofitted lights and Im seriously considering picking up a pair when they come out this November just hope they dont get delayed.

And links for those morimotos your talking about. I Google morimoto xb and only get fog lights. No headlights.

There prototypes atm TRS and Morimoto posted them up the other week on social media.

Does morimoto actually make complete set headlights or they just make the parts to retrofit your original headlights?

Anyways I may just go the route and order the tyc from retrofit and the harness so I know that it should deff just plug and play for me

They will be making the full headlight plug and play with all the goodies inside already. They just released the F150 version I believe and already have ones for the mustang and C5 vettes.

Hmmm i like that....I may try to contact them about that and make sure theyd be plug and play for the quad lights....dont want to wait and then find out sonething i didnt know lol

They said it will work with either or just need to tell them at time of order which factory lights you have but ya I would reach out to them to verify.

Yeah I just read through their post on Facebook....prob a noob question but let me ask it....what do these morimoto offer in addition rather than me just getting the black housing stock projectors from TYC and conversion? This is me coming from quads. Is it just the look? Or these are dual projectors? I personally like the look of both so just seeing what would make more sense financially. About $800 vs $1250

The output should be insane on them they are going to be quad low / highbeam LED projectors. There MLED projector now is on par with HIDs so imagine 4 of them on at once from a knowledgeable lighting manufacturer. I currenty have retro fitted fxrs and even have these sitting that I need to fix but think Ill be pre ordering the morimotos lol...

Well those ones are paint matched to my truck in maximum steel metallic. I need to yank them apart shouldnt have sealed them up without dialing in the pods.. at least 2nd time around its much simpler lol.
