So just to start, i work at a salvage yard, and we just got a totaled 2006 charger in, that has the 5.7 with 68000 miles on it, i can buy the engine for $800, the shop guys damaged the oil pan pulling it, but i assume it would need a truck pan anyway for the swap, my question is, do you guys think i should use the trans in the car? Or build my stock trans? (If it will bolt up) it has ecu, engine harness, and all accessories, what will i need to convert to a cable throttle body? And would i be better off going standalone? Or run stock computer until it is time for boost?

Gonna be ALOT of custom fab work if its going in a 4x4... Doubt the trans from the car would work, plus more fab work to fit it, and all the electronics... Stock trans won't bolt, besides why would you want to use a 46re? They can barely handle the 360... Wouldn't even think about putting boost on it, that will cost waaaaaay more then its worth.

edit: I'd just grab a jy 360 and build it, much less headache :)

Ive got a full billet built 46re in my storage unit, and my truck is 2wd so thats not an issue, just curious if itd be worth the hassle, i have a good 360 i pulled at work too out of an 01 1500 sport, just havent found much in the way of internals that would be good for boost, i know a few people with turbo 2nd gens, and they run good, but my buddy's turbo 03 is ridiculously fast on ten pounds, so thought i would look into it

IIRC the bottom end on a 360 is actually good for more boost than a Hemi. I just don't remember how much.
