I had my truck in the dealer yesterday to do some maintenance and have the B4C dash cluster reimaged. When I made the appointment, they noted a recall for the trailer lighting and trailer brakes, but stated that recall parts were unavailable. It is was not clear whether these parts were simply unavailable at the dealer or whether RAM had not yet made them available to the dealers. Anybody else have this recall and have you been able to get it done?

I called the dealer yesterday to inquire about the recall. I got the same response you did. They had no parts. Mine is working fine so I really didn't want anything taken apart, so I don't mind waiting.

I can't prove it, but I have a feeling that the dealers are replacing the ones on their lot first. I heard they aren't allowed to sell them until the recall was done. I'm OK with that too. Make the mistakes on theirs and learn before they get to mine.

I’m at the dealer now and they are replacing the trailer brake module.

Found the 5th wheel we wanted! It's in Cincinnati, we're in Colorado. No problem, road trip in the new truck! Got the deal done, put down a deposit on the trailer.

Saw recall notice 03D posted. Need to replace the trailer tow module. Trailer sitting in Cicinatti till module is replaced. Don't know how long that dealer is going to go along with this...

MY TIMING SUCKS!

Like others posted, nobody has the part. Some dealers say they are not being allowed to order any, and can't sell the trucks they have. Others said they are being allowed to order one a week. So why the hell does the recall notice say that the repair parts are available? Called Stellantis Customer service. What a joke! "It's a logistics problem" was all he offered. I lost it... "No **** it's a logistics problem! What I want to know is what you are doing to resolve it, and when can I realistically expect to be able to get my truck repaired!" <Crickets Chirping here>. I asked why they are claiming parts are available when they are clearly not! More Crickets...

Called the sales manager where I bought the truck yesterday (2/18). He said he would try to have more information by the beginning of next week. All I can do is wait and hope this gets resolved before the dealer in Cincinnati gets tired of holding onto a trailer they took a deposit on but can't get the rest of their money till , when?

All companies have problems, I know that. But, good companies acknowledge and lean into the problem, and let their customers know what they are trying to do to resolve them as safely and quickly as possible. Good companies do not downplay the effects on their customers , and they certainly don't flat out LIE about parts being available!!!

Until this came up, I had never heard of Stellantis. I ,always thought Dodge was a decent product. I had a Dakota back in the early 90's, never had a lick of trouble with it. Didn't know till after I bought this 2500 that they are assembled in Mexico. I never asked, and don't necessarily have a problem with that. So far this truck is awesome and I'm really happy we got it. But based on this experience and what I'm seeing others have posted on this forum, I really hope I haven't made a huge mistake with this purchase. As far as Sterllantis goes, it doesn't seem like I should have much hope that they actually care about their customers.

Shame on them for sure, but shame on me for not doing my due diligence as well....

Sounds like your dealer is an idiot, read a week or so ago that the dealers were allowed to order 2 modules a week and they require a VIN # to order them, I bet they are ordering them for there in stock trucks as I think this problem is the one that caused a stop sell order but could be mistaken

I have just got this recall and a “customer Satisfaction” notification for purge valve.
Parts for the 03D recall are on very very short supply apparently. Nobody at my dealer will confirm this problem won’t occur if I don’t tow( which I don’t at moment)
Anyone got any advice about this?
Having the purge valve done but the “module may be several months sir”
I’m not gonna bother if this actually isn’t going to cause me an issue……….some peeps on here are towing and having no issues at all?

Thanks in advance

Brought it in. Supposedly pulled the rear seat. Found they didn't have the right part. Said something about a revision. Would call me with ETA. Haven't heard from them since.

Got my trailer lighting module recall done yesterday. Had to call the dealer a few times, but they got me in line for the part, and scheduled the fix for yesterday. Just in time, I have a trip planned with our travel trailer for next week, I was not comfortable making this trip without the fix in place.

To be fair, I connected the trailer last week, and everything worked with the old module, so I would have made the trip either way, but I am glad it's done.

Connected the trailer with the new module, everything is working as it should, hopefully there won't be any failures from here.

The dealer gave me a loaner to use for the day while they did the recall, which was nice. It was a 2025 Bighorn, a lot like mine, but with the Pentastar/eTorque, mine has the SST SO (Hurricane). I could feel the difference power wise for sure with the V6, first time driving anything with eTorque for me. I could feel the electric pulling, and some regenerative braking as low speeds, something I would likely get used to. It shifted A LOT more, and had trouble holding 8th gear on even the slightest uphill grade.

The SST motor is a giant upgrade from the V6 for sure, glad to have it in my truck.

When we bought in late February, I asked about the recall. The salesman said they could only install them in new sales at the time. Luckily, mine wasn't part of the recall so we were out of there quickly. I am glad they are catching up.
