I've considered getting this 67A recall on my 2013 Tradesman Dually performed but have put it off because I've modified the programming in the BCM to activate upgrades like Dual zone CC, RA4, power heated seats, heated steering wheel, led lighting, etc... I did 4 years ago. My concern is that they will reset the truck back to OE configuration and possibly disable the upgrades or possibly the truck.
I'm not overly concerned with the emissions changes as a result of the recall, only if the programming will change what I've configured in the BCM.

Do you not have a list of the settings modified in your truck's BCM?

I have no opinion on the 67A recall but if they have to disconnect the battery for an extended period, the BCM may require a refresh and their only solution would be to reset the default settings.

I have modified several settings on my truck's BCM and required to reset them after the dealership had the battery disconnected during a couple of warranty repairs.

I would investigate the process followed during the 67A recall to determine if the battery gets disconnected. I'm sure you could just call them up and ask. Even if they claim it doesn't, I would plan on restoring my custom tweaks anyway because $hit happens.

My truck is still under warranty and I use the dealership twice per year. The Mopar Piece of Mind deals that include a full synthetic oil change, tire rotation and warranty inspection is a great deal, in my mind.

The only time I have had any issues was during a couple of warranty repairs where the battery was disconnected. The SAs at the dealership I use are well aware that I have tweaked the BCM, they don't care.

My understanding is that the recall affects the ECM, which controls EGR and DEF usage. Not the BCM. But the battery disconnect suggestion above makes sense. But, I’ve been wrong before….

I was unaware that a battery disconnect would reset the BCM. If that is the case I suppose I could log the changes from Alpha OBD and reset them after the service work.
