So I have a 2017 Ram 1500 4wd 5.7 and it has the Service Trailer Brakes warning along with Service the electronic brake system. I also loose the cruise control and the esc light is on.
Little backstory,
I was driving down the highway the other morning when out of no where the esc light came on accompanied by these 2 warnings.
No trailer attached. The night before that, I had to hit the brakes hard.
Any ideas what could be causing this.
I scanned for codes and got a C0051 & U0415. I also checked the fusebox and made sure they were all firmly seated.

Would a brake pedal position sensor cause this?

So, this is most likely a wheel speed sensor? I could see that having issues with the rest of the warnings.

I ask, because I'm having the same warnings. I've tried checking the wiring under the truck (I ran over a tire that fell off a trailer). Everything that I can see, seems to be attached and ok. But, it could be something I'm missing. The warnings only come after about a minute from starting the truck, or, I start driving. How do you get the codes? My code reader will not read the ABS codes.

Had those codes when I had the rear end jacked up for the transmission oil change.

Used alfaobd to clear the codes.

Some old readers and the really inexpensive ones usually don't read many of the module codes, just the basic codes.

I use the OBDlink MX+ and it reads all the codes. Of course there are many others that are less expensive than mine out there, And there are scan tools, which cost quite a bit more. I like the OBDLink because it is small, bluetooth and also works well with AlfaOBD.

Thanks! I realized I have the OBDlink MX+ and AlfaOBD, so I hooked that up and got the codes from it. Ended up starting a new thread for it.
