I wanted a bed topper for my 2022 Ram Quad Cab but ARE and Leer toppers are anywhere from 8 to 12 weeks out on orders. I decided to go with the SmartCap EVO Sport since the lead time was much shorter. It was more expensive than a similarly equipped fiberglass topper. With shipping I paid $4600. Overall I am blown away by the quality of the topper. This thing is a beast. Stainless Steel construction with 700lb roof load rating (300lbs while driving). You can have a party on the roof!

What I like: the construction is solid, rock solid. Heavy duty and I have no doubt this thing will last a very long time. Gates and windows open all the way around making access very easy. Built in roof rails so it is easy to mount racks or other accessories on the top. Multiple options for opening windows. It has small sliders on the sides or the whole window opens like a gull-wing fashion. Front window for pass-thru. It has a glass pass-thru for the rear flood light (3rd brake light) so you can use your trucks rear flood to illuminate the topper. It also has a positive pressure system that takes air in from the top and keeps positive pressure inside the topper. This is supposed to keep dust out of the topper. I do not live in a dusty area but we do have dirt roads and I have not noticed any dust inside the topper.

What I do not like: This thing is heavy. The pallet weight when it was dropped off at my home was 350lbs. It came well packaged and no damage to any parts. Assembly is a pain. You need at least two people to assemble it and 4 to flip it over and install it. I used a lift so it was possible for two of us to install it. A small note, all the assembly bolts were missing in my shipment. Rather than wait for them to be shipped I bought stainless steel bolts locally to put it together. Also, I personally do not think it looks as good a white fiberglass topper on my white Ram. I think it would look great on a grey or black Ram. I am just personally not a fan of how it looks. I am considering selling it and ordering a white fiberglass topper or having this one wrapped in white vinyl. It really has a rugged look so for an off-road or over-lander setup I think it would be awesome.

Overall a great top!

I like mine. my 2500 version which is slightly heavier than the 1500 version is only 268 lbs.vs 250lbs for the 1500 so I do not think that is bad. I figure a quality fiberglass one will be close to that. Maybe put some black accents on your truck to match the topper color.
I have billet silver and have the lower black in black and it seems to tie the colors in ok.4F1FFF36-DA04-45C2-980B-2981D62E14F4_1_201_a.jpeg
