Well, I just aimed the new TYC sport headlights on my Dad's '98 Ram and all I can say is they are complete rubbish. Sure, with the 80/100 watt bulbs there is a lot of light, but it's not spread out for crap! There are 2 big hot spots (like HIDs in a standard reflector housing) and no fill.
I gotta say, I'm really let down with this. I spent a whole lot of time doing the wiring for these (3 relays etc) and to have such a crappy light pattern really lets me down. My Dad seems super stoked about them, but I can't tell if he's just trying to be appreciative of all the work I put into them or if he is actually happy.
Guess I'll try some standard 55/65 bulbs and see if that clears up the hot spots. Logically I can see no reason why a bright bulb would have any impact on the foci of a parabola... but who am I to get all technical.
Bottom line, if you're lookin to upgrade your 2nd Gen lighting, avoid the TYC sport headlights, they SUCK.
