Swapping 2004 5.7 into 2008. California. What can I get away with as far as horsepower and smog?

Want to build up my 2004 5.7 and drop it into a 2008 Ram. What would be ideal for California? I have about 400 horsepower now but 600 and a transmission with overdrive would be sweet.

Not in Cali LMAO......hell, not in front of an RFE lol. Have you not looked up your own state's laws about this? CARB is pretty restrictive.
