Third Tail Light

Not sure what to call it... Third tail light, tailgate light, ?? Anyway, the light that is just above the license plate and below the tailgate on HD trucks. Can anyone tell me where I can get one, or the part number? I don't want an aftermarket light strip, I want the OEM light. I think my truck even has the connector for it. Thank you!!

Yeah, I think it is mostly on 3500's. But I want to get one for my 2500.

That's the marker specific to dually trucks since they exceed the 80" width. Good luck with your search

Not with an auto part, but that happened to me just last month. I wanted to order two sets of something that looked like it came in a set of 3, so I would have ended up with 6 of those items. I ended up with 2 of the items because in the picture on the website it showed 3 of them together, but in the tiny print at the bottom of the description it stated, "Only one (1) item comes per package." Luckily, I had ordered from a site that is real good about its return policy.

Well, I got one and installed it. I thought there might be a connector for it, but couldn't find one, so I wired it into the tail light circuit on the trailer wiring harness.

The 3 lights below the tailgate are called Indication Lights. Those lights along with the front Cab Lights on the roof are federally required on vehicles over 80 inches, and are to indicate to oncoming & rear approaching drivers that it is an 80" wide or wider vehicle.

So on a single wheel truck, you're false advertising.

False advertising, aye! I still like the look. I like it better than the LED strip that goes all the way across the back.
