2018 Ram 3500 Cummins 6.7L Aisin tranny towing 13klb 5th wheel. I got 30k mi on 60k mi warranty Cooper AT3 XLT 28560R20s towing sparingly with the exception of an 11k mi Alaska trip the first 12k mi. Regular rotation/ balancing pressure. Anybody have a recommendation for replacement tires?

My friend recently put a full set of new BFG KO2's on his 3500 dually and loves them! He hauls with a 5th wheel car carrier from time to time.
Not too noisy, looks great, and lots of grip too!
He also said the fuel economy was decent as well.
I've also heard that Toyo also makes some nice LT rated tires.
He put on the new tires and got a proper alignment. He's put almost 15,000Km's on them and everything is straight and true on the wearing. Regular rotations, rebalances his tires every 4 to 6 months (he does have his own tire balancer though), and frequent pressure checks and adjustments as required.

I Replaced my original Goodyears (terrible) in March 2019, with 37K on them. Bought the Michelin LTX, and was a large improvement. However, they (supposedly) were a 70,000 mile tire. Since working from home, I went from stop an go commuting, and 12K a year the truck, to 6K a year. I now have 65,000 miles on the truck, and the Michelins have about 28K on them. Got the truck PA state inspected today, and tires have gone from 7/32 to 5/32 in only 6000 miles (that's from inspection last year). WTF? My driving is local, with some stop and go, and I average 60-70 mph highway driving. At this rate, I think I will only get 40K out of these tires max.

Would I buy them again? I think so, because they are excellent in the wet and snow. However, don't be fooled thinking you're going to get 60K or more out of them.

40 K sounds about right, for mixed use, HD Truck
My rig: 17 6.4 2500 4x4 OFF Road, at 100+ K miles now. I love Cooper AT3 XLT 75/70R18. plenty of towing, not heavy, 4k to 6k TT, boat, car hauler. plenty off road use also. I also lower the pressure to 60/65 when not towing.
Less than 20 K on the OEM, Trans force (JUNK FORCE Firestone tires)
On my third set of Cooper AT3 XLT 75/70R18's.
first two sets got 40 K each. just put on the third set at 100 K

Go cheap as you will be replacing tires on an increased frequency. It’s the weight of the trucks. Cooper took a hit when Goodyear bought them, they just ain’t the same.

Had Nitto Trail Grapplers that only lasted around 30k miles. Replaced them with Nitto Ridge Grapplers and got 60k miles out of them while never rotating them. Very quiet on the road for how aggressive they are. Have about 20k miles on my second set of Ridge Grapplers.

My tire store ordered me a set of Defenders yesterday. They should be here today for installation. Man, they are pricey! $368 each for LT285/60r20's.

I was shocked to get about 70K from the OEM Michelin X A/S tires on my 2006 2500, the sad thing is they no longer make that tire for my current 2500.

I buy mine through BJ's Whoelsale club, they are $240ea and they offer lifetime free balancing, road hazzard and flat repair.

My favorite tire right now .... I have 20K+ on my Ridge Grapplers and I am pretty sure I will be able to get close to 60 out of them too ....

I just checked the local BJ's. They are $382.99 each for the Michelin Defenders LT285/60R20's. I went through Mavis Tire. Tire pricing is linked to petroleum, so they have skyrocketed in price.

If you can get 50,000 miles out of any tire on a HD Ram you are doing great. The least aggressive, highway style tread will give you the longest life on pavement and pulling. The more aggressive the tread, the faster they will wear. It makes a good arguement for 2 sets of tires if you tow a lot but also drive in winter or off road conditions. Make is not nearly as impactful as proper inflation of the E rated tire and tread style.

They must have had in increase, I do remember using the Michelin coupon and the 4 with everything was less than $1200

If you have them in your area/s, keep an eye out for Michelin (and other brands) specials at both Costco and Sam`s Club.

Why do you say Cooper took a hit? It's far too soon to tell if anything has changed with Cooper tires since they were bought out in June of 2021.
Only time will tell if they truly "took a hit" as far as quality.

Agree. On top of that, Goodyear makes some damn good tires. Take them WAY before a set of Firestones. Been using Duratracs for decades and Goodyear trailer tires on all our severe duty trailers for just as long.

My son had K02's on his 2018 2500 6.4 4x4 and got over 50,000 on them. About 7000 of that was towing his 8000lb TT.
I have 28,000 on my Firestones and MIGHT get another 8000-10,000 but not much more than that. Plan on replacing them before next winter. I work from home and only put about 5000-6000 year on it. Just have to figure out what I'll put on it. Definitely won't be GoodYear or anything owned by GY. I have always liked Cooper but won't buy them again either. They burned that bridge with me.

Having ran them for years, time has already shown the issues.

Last two sets had issues and were prorated.
