Well this is what happens when my son starts working at a dealer and my wife is looking to get me something for our anniversary. Wasn't even looking for a truck but got roped in while stopping by to go to lunch with my son and got a deal that we couldn't pass up.

Traded:
13 Ram 1500 SLT CC 4x4 v6/8spd 3.21
(49k miles, 18/23 mpg).
(Piedmont Dodge in Anderson, SC , ask for Jason):
** Hard to let this one go too **

Mods/add-ons:
- 8.4 Nav radio Conversion, Backup Cam, front cam (RAx Jailbreak), steering wheel audio controls, Big Horn grill, Sport Wheels, 8" LED Pods in Tow Hook spots (Added factory foglight SW & wiring), Tyc Projectors, LED Laramie tails, tailgate assist, Bak Roll-X cover, W2W steps, Power fold AutoDim RearView & Ext mirrors, Mopar Remote Start, Hitch, 18 USB hub & Seat insert (ready for UAQ/UAS upgrade).

New ride:

18 Ram 1500 Laramie CC 4x2 v8/8spd/3.21
(Demo, 5k miles, 16/21 mpg)
1510235e3ec2ff537f10ef58477d210a.jpg
- Loaded with everything except steps, a bed cover, & bed lighting (Has UAS vs UAQ radio)! Great truck! (Knew I'd take a hit on the mpg)

Looks right at home next to the wife's 16 Challenger.

Nice upgrade! I jumped on a new 2017 Laramie two months ago. Maybe the new ones will grow on me a bit. Congrats!

With incentives and a family discount it's pretty hard not to do the upgrade. Looking at the 19 prices makes it make even more sense. Once it's broken in you shouldn't take much of a mpg hit because you went to a 2WD. Why not stay 4X4? Regardless it's a beauty of a truck. I still haven't come around to the blackout look. That black and chrome looks great to me. Congrats on the new ride.

I’m just thinking the deal was just too good on the 18
Yep. Got more for my trade, more off the 18 truck with incentives & "discount". The 18 Laramie was $3k more than a 17 Bighorn (not enough value for me over my previous truck to jump).

I would have preferred a 4x4, but I no longer live in the Appalachian mountains and even then only used it 2-4 times. Wasn't worth paying more on my end as a glorified grocery getter/city truck. Was holding out for a Rambox (Bighorn or higher) but local inventory and price just weren't coming together (6 dealers w/i 30 mins of my house).

Would have definitely gotten into a 19, but there aren't any real discounts to be had plus the few local trucks are Laramie's or Limited's.

To Do:

Debadge, Bak Revolver X2, and steps. Maybe install a front camera again in the grill badge and swap out the chrome power fold mirrors for a flat back set from a Big Horn or sport. Chrome is good, but I don't like it on the mirrors and I'm not sure about the chrome Laramie grill inserts. (Still have the old honeycomb inserts from the last truck)

Nice ruck! I got a 17 silver Laramie and had the dealer replace the chrome door handles with body color. Was going to have them replace the mirror caps with body color but they said they'd have to replace the entire mirror which, according to them, would've messed with the memory seats of all things. Whether that was true or not I don't know. Luckily for me the chrome on silver doesn't stand out enough to worry about it IMO.

Congrats, man! I was just about to do the same thing when my lovely wife informed me, that my 2014 was almost paid off. My next thought was "I'm going to upgrade my entire truck, one piece at a time!
