2016 2500 66rfe 6.4 hemi. Tow approx 6 to 7,000 pounds. Still getting a intermittant P740 code TCC malfunction. 2 dealers and one independent transmission shop all say same thing. Cannot diagnose what exactly is the problem its a stored code. Independent shop did more to diagnose than dealer they ran the scanner while driving for 1/2 hour up to 60 mph. No performance issues at this time . Some torque convertor slippage but not enough to throw a code. He thinks its a mechanical problem not electrical like solenoids but not sure. Had tranny fully serviced and code came in much less frequent from every 100 miles to 3,000 miles.
Heres my main question. Typically will the problem get worse and simply throw the code more often with no performance issues to the point the code is no longer stored but an active code now they have something to work with? Or is there a good possibility It will go from where I am at as previously described to total failure leaving me stranded no gradual getting worst. Every American truck i have owned for 40 years has had tranny problems. Never left me broke down never a performance issue all found during routine service with excessive metal shavings. This is what I am hoping for.
