Hi all, have some issues on my truck and wanting to see if anyone has seen anything like this. So, a few months back I had a P26AB code kick on-pretty normal, especially because I had an aftermarket coolant valve on the truck. I ignored it for awhile while taking care of other stuff, and then the valve suddenly had some kind of short where it threw the truck into limp mode and wouldn't hardly run, until I unplugged the coolant valve altogether. I replaced the valve with a Mopar one, but the P26AB never went away. I wondered if I had somehow gotten a bad mopar valve, but now I'm starting to suspect that I may have a electrical issue instead. I noticed one day when messing with the coolant valve that I also had a P062A, which is a fuel pump control performance code- did some research and sounded like the code is basically triggered by fuel pump issues which I had no problem with as the truck has 200k on it now, so I threw a fuel pump at it, and that code is gone but now on top of the valve code i'm getting a P018D- fuel rail pressure sensor circuit high, which makes me wonder if I even had a fuel pump issue but oh well 200k i'll replace it lol. Anyways, curiously enough these codes are stored rather than active almost every time I look at them, so the issues seem super intermittent. Last week while driving the truck also randomly went into limp mode, which I was able to resolve by simply restarting the truck and it hasn't happened again, but when that happened I also had a stored camshaft position sensor code- don't remember what the exact code was and forgot to write it down and have since cleared it. So, long story short I think I have an electrical issue because the issues seem intermittent, and I noticed on wiring diagrams that the valve, the rail pressure sensor, both camshaft position sensors, along with the MAP sensor all share the same 5V reference wire, and the same sensor ground. But, electrical is not my strong suit so im doing some mental gymnastics- is it the 5V wire? is it the ground? Is one of those sensors going bad and starting to slowly cause issues? I have no idea, or where to even begin on how to find that.. when checking powers/grounds at the parts they all appear to be good, but with such an intermittent issue I don't know if i've ever tested with the problem even present. Did the good old fashioned wiggle tests all over the harness to no avail. Basically I've hit a brick wall and not sure what to look for at this point, hoping that somehow maybe someone out there has had the same or similar experience lol... thanks!

As you mentioned, you may have a GROUND that is malfunctioning

OR ?

a very good site for information
it goes into more detail, than most sites

P018D Fuel Pressure Sensor B Circuit High

Code P018D is set when the PCM detects a high fuel pressure sensor signal. This usually indicates an open circuit.

If i were you ............
First of all, i would go to a Auto Parts Store, ie:

AutoZone, oreillyauto.com/, NAPA
Ask them if they will plug into your OBD Port, to check for codes.
They have a better code reader than what you are using.

You mentioned that your Codes are STORED
Most times, that means that the Codes have to be Cleared.

Which may mean, that you will have to do a
DRIVE CYCLE

I’m not sure why you think my scanner isn’t good, I clearly knew what codes I had and the issues I was having. I am a mechanic and have a professional scanner- but being a mechanic doesn’t mean I don’t need some occasional advice. Stored codes meant the problem wasn’t present, so it was some kind of intermittent issue because I cleared them many times and they always came back.

I replaced the fuel rail pressure sensor with the updated mopar part which fixed the code for that.

The fix for the P26AB code was a little weirder. So like I said before I installed a Mopar coolant valve, didn’t fix my issue, thought maybe I got a bad one so warrantied it out and replaced it again. Code still kept returning. Noticed in live data on my scanner that the valve was moving but didn’t match desired position. I ended up fixing it by disconnecting the battery which seemed to maybe reset the positioning back to 0 for everything and recalibrated it if you will. Put over 200 miles on it since doing that and the code hasn’t returned.
