Transmission swap?

Hey yal this is my first post any help will be appreciated. I have a 01 1500 and I lost reverse and then o/d so I'm looking for another trans. What I need to know is will a 46re out of a 318 Durango work in my truck?

As long as it is a 46RE in the Durango and it is the same 2WD or 4WD configuration as your 2001 Ram 1500 it will bolt up and you can hit the road. Depending on the year model of the Durango with a 5.2 (318cu. in.) it could very well be a 44RE instead of the 46RE.

Most of the 5.2 Durango's came with the 44RE and the 5.9 Durango's came with the 46RE so make sure you can confirm it is a 46RE. You can identify each one by the transmission pan.
