Any had a problem with 4th gen transmissions? I'll be more specific I'm in texas 100+ everyday. The first time it when to 4th gear as soon as I put it in drive. Turned it off and started it again and it was fine. Today it it shifted from 1st to 5th. Got near home. Turned it off and back on and no issue. It's very strange. Has never slipped or had issues before but I did notice some days when I put it I gear it takes a second before it engages. Now it has 95k and I just changed the transmission fluid and filters at 92k.

Can you be more specific on what year?

Sounds like the solenoid pack to me. That happend in my 2010 5spd. The only difference is my locked in 4th witch is the 1 to 1 gear

Sounds like the solenoid pack to me. That happend in my 2010 5spd. The only difference is my locked in 4th witch is the 1 to 1 gear

That's how mine went, never showed a problem, then wouldn't shift to overdrive. Burnt the overdrive clutches. Then the next couple times it went into limp mode and stuck in 3rd. My point is, mine never displayed any symptoms of going out, it just went.

Not saying that's what's going on here. I also had a 3000 stall converter, just keep it in mind. Keep an eye on the fluid and fluid level. Check if it smells burnt, and make sure it's not even a little low. That'll cause issues.

Did your 2010 show any engine codes when it happened?

I honestly cant remember I think something showed up on the scanner and maybe it was a blinking O/D light but I cant be 100% certain that was about 3-4 years ago

Thanks, fluid is fine. It just ****** me off i started having the issue right after I did the transmission service. Lol luckily it's a certified preowned and have 5k miles before that's up. Just bad timing with the trip coming up.

Sorry if I missed it, but are we talking the 8spd?

Does it feel like it's trying to start off in 5th, etc or is this just what the dash cluster is indicating?

6 speed. So one time it started in 4th, came up on the dash as being in 4th. The next time started in first but then up shifted to 6th.no gears in between.
