Hi everyone,
I’m a new Ram owner. About 3 weeks ago, I bought a Ram Certified 2021 Ram 1500 Classic 2WD with only 17k miles on it.
A few days after buying it, I noticed a transmission leak coming from the rear seal. Other than that, the truck has been driving perfectly with no issues at all.
I took it to the dealer, and they confirmed the leak will be fixed under warranty. But then the master technician told me he felt a very slight delay when shifting into reverse during his physical test. He said that could be a sign the D clutch needs replacement and mentioned there’s a TSB for it (TSB: 21-009-25 REV. B – 850RE D Clutch Repair).
This is where I’m confused and honestly a little worried. I personally haven’t noticed any shifting problems, warning lights, or transmission codes. The truck feels great to drive. The only issue I knew about was the rear seal leak. But may be the master technician have more knowledge and captured an issue that I can not see.
Now I’m concerned that opening up the transmission for this repair could potentially create more problems later on. At the same time, I also understand the technician may be correct and trying to address an issue before it gets worse.
Has anyone here dealt with something similar or had this TSB repair done? How did it turn out for you?
