Turned off truck, Came back, - amp has no power

Okay, I turned off my truck when I went in for a piano lesson, came back about an hour later, turned on the truck and the dang amp wouldn't power on. Checked connections, except for the ground, then put a volt meter up and the main power wire is only delivering 7v to the amp. and the remote wire is at 13v. So what would cause the wire to not deliver enough voltage?

**I use an agu glass fuse, and 4 gauge knuconceptz wiring kit, with a kenwood 9105d amplifier, with the 10" kicker cvt subs, wired in parallel for a load of 2 ohms

smashed power wire, power is grounding out, disconnect at battery until you find culprit...

ok, I'll check that, but is it possible for the fuse to have come un-soldered at the end of the fuse, and only be connected by a small piece, creating a lower flow of volts?

If you suspect the fuse, just check the power right after the fuse. Also, make sure you have the power wire disconnected from the amp when you are checking the voltage at the amp.

ok thanks. I'll check the fuse at lunch, and retest the voltage at the amp, what's the best alternative to a glass agu fuse, it's a 100 amp fuse

because the glass fuses are a pain to figure if they are blown or not

You could always get a circuit breaker, stinger makes some decent ones.

nah, read too many bad things about circuit breakers, how are the anl fuses? are they easy to tell if they are blown?

I never had any issues when I've used breakers, but the ANLs are fine too. Those would have been my next recommendation.

nice, is that a regular anl? or a mini anl? What's the downside of anl's? and what's the difference between a regular anl and a mini anl?

nice, it was the fuse, I went to walmart and got a cheap **** fuse and holder for temporary, while I order an anl holder and fuse. what's a good anl holder for under the hood for around $15?
