I bought a 2025 Ram 2500 4x4 crew cab with the 6.7 I've had the truck about a month and have 1400 miles on it and wanted to inspect underneath to make sure all was looking good underneath. I was under the impression that the vehicle alone weighed 6500lbs or less. I bought some rhino ramps rated for 12k lbs. Drove up the ramps and one of them gave out instantly. I'm guessing I just got a defective ramp. The sticker on the truck says it's GAWR for the front is only 6k lbs so I'm assuming I bought the right size ramp for it but figured I'd check to see if anyone else has encountered a problem like this?

Were the ramps on level concrete?
They shouldn't have failed.

That's for the 6.4 gasser, add about another 1000 lbs for the Cummins.
My buddies 3500 w/Cummins 4X4 CC 8' bed as it rolls down the road tips almost 9K and it's not a dually

Yes, level on concrete and ramps were brand new. Took the pieces back to auto zone and got a refund.

My 2500 long box with the 6.4 weighs almost 9000 LBs with the winch, canopy, the stuff I always carry, full tank of fuel (which is 330 pounds by itself) and the driver. Even brand new with no stuff in it, it was just under 8,000 LBs on a certified scale, so I have no idea where Ram gets their empty weights from. However that means front should weight about 5,400 LBS on mine so those ramps should have easily held your pickup.

I lost the ticket at some point, but I think my PW was around 7500 when I scaled it.

I'm not sure how they rate ramps, but I've seen jack stands that say 3 ton rated but the fine print says "per pair", so they may only have half the rating you think they do. Regardless I think you got some defective ones.

The empty weight for my 2020 2500 hemi with the Rambox bed as driven is as follows:

7,420lbs - (not sure if it was full or gas, but I think it was as I weighed it at the QT I get gas at)

Axle weights:
  • Front axle 4140 lbs
  • Rear 3280 lbs

They should have held your truck. I've bought a pair of Rhino ramps back in 2013 and still use them today. Granted I have the 6.4 engine. There was a post here a while back where someone had a pair that were cracking after some time.

My 2018 2500 CC SB 6.4L 4x4 weighed about 7000lbs new. Now its about 7300 after adding a tonneau cover, tow mirrors and a few other odds and ends in it. Cummins is about 900lbs heavier.
But agreed, those ramps should have held your truck.

The 2025 Ram 2500 diesel (equipped with the 6.7L Cummins turbo-diesel) has a curb weight typically ranging between 7,000 and 7,600 pounds. Weights vary significantly based on cab size, bed length, and drivetrain, with 4x4 Crew Cab models usually weighing more than 7,000 lbs, often reaching 7,500+ lbs with options.
Ram Trucks +2
  • Crew Cab 4x4 (6'4" box): Approx. 7,015 – 7,406 lbs.
  • Crew Cab 4x4 (8' box): Approx. 7,133 – 7,587 lbs.
  • Mega Cab 4x4: Generally at the higher end of the 7,000+ lb range.
