What is this coming off the Air Box Duct? Should I clean it and how?

I was cleaning the throttle body and Air Temperature sensor. There was also the item below which had some oily residue in it. There wasn't a sensor. It just looked like a tube.

Should I clean it by spraying some Mass Air Sensor cleaner in it or just leave it alone.

That's the make up air for the pcv system,doesn't hurt to clean it.It provides filtered air to the crankcase to offset the air sucked out of the crankcase by the pcv system.
