I have a 2018 2500 CC 4x4 with the 20x8 black appearance pkg wheels. I'm looking at downsizing to 18x9 inch wheels to get more sidewall, and the tires are much less costly. My plan is to go with a 295/70/18 tire, which is 34.3 x 11.6 (Toyo shows 11.8). No lift or level, and I have the OEM flares.
I am trying to determine what offset works best to keep the tires inside the fender well and with no rubbing. I was looking at 18x9 with a +6 or +12 offset, but my understanding is that these may protrude outside the factory flares. Now I'm looking at +18 to +25 range. According to Thuren's website, +18 to +25 is the optimal range.
I've also searched at Custom Wheel Offsets and with that tire and rim size, +18 or so seems to be my best bet.
Is anyone running 295/70/18 tires with 18x9 wheels and what offset are your wheels? Are they inside or at the fender well edge? Do you have any rubbing?
Thanks!
