Which state has the best prices for a 2020 1500?

I have a 2018 Longhorn with 24,000 miles and in excellent condition here in Goodyear AZ, we are moving to southwest Florida in October. It is time to sell and upgrade to a 2020 or 2021. I would probably sell privately here in Arizona and once we reach Florida buy another one. My question is what state would get me the best deal for a top of the line 1500 around October of this year? I also would be willing to fly and drive home for the right deal or even drive to a dealer on the way to Florida and do a trade in.

...Used to give you great deals. Now...not so much. They are a huge dealership, and you can get a good deal from them. But they aren't what they were a few years ago. I've heard of people having good results if you can get another dealership to compete with them for your business. But if not, you probably won't get a better deal from them than you would from any other dealership.

Honestly, I'd buy from either Florida after you move, or Arizona before you move, whichever one has the lowest sales tax rate. Doesn't matter what the sales tax rate of the state you buy is, you'll have to make up the difference when you register it in your state of residence. Just my 2 cents.

David Stanley Ram in OKC has widely advertised $18k off several 2020's. Best advertised deal I have seen after watching Rams for overall year.

Lots of dealers are going to be hurting even more with lower sales volume by October. Check out which dealers in Florida are currently providing the best deals. Buying a 2020 in October after the 2021 trucks start to arrive should put you in more control over negotiating a price with the dealers in the area.

I always want to be able to thoroughly check out a new vehicle before accepting it and driving it home. If there are any problems I can leave it at the dealer and they have a strong incentive to make any fixes in a timely manner.

In Florida the state sales tax rate is 6% but in certain cities it can be as high as 8.5% so knowing this before selecting a dealer from which to buy the truck can save you $1,000.

Kernersville Dodge here in NC had good prices. I noticed recently the deals are not as good as they were. I think the reason is that the stock is so much lower. A dealer near me had 5 Ram Rebels in stock about 2 months ago, now there is only 1. Until production picks up and stocks dealers, I think I would wait to buy a new vehicle.

It has been a while since I got my truck, but I'd give the Kentucky/Indiana region a look; namely Bachmann CJDR (formerly Bales Auto) in Jeffersonville, IN (right outside Louisville). I got $15k off and they were very generous with my trade-in.

I bought mine at Heister Dodge in Nc. All vehicles except the Redeye are invoice minus rebate and incentives everyday..
Incentives are by region that you live in. So if you live in Nc but buy in ********* Cali the Cali incentives would not apply to your purchase. The dealer may eat it for the sale though.

I just purchased a used 2018 regular cab from John Heister. Small world, although I drove 11 hours for what I wanted. Did you happen to trade in a truck? If so maybe you left a 9mm bullet in the console... Lol.
