I've been through 14 pages on the topic of key fob programming but didn't see anything about the other options for programming.
When I first got my truck, first press on unlock only unlocked the drivers door. After having to reset the ECM and a few times borrowing the battery, now when I hit unlock both doors unlock.
I want to change it back to drivers door first and figure out how to get the park lights to flash on lock.
I've tried a few things that I've found on other forums but nothing that works for sure on a 2nd gen.

Thanks in advance

I think to have the lights flash when locking you would have to go into the menu settings on the Infotainment/radio menus to get that to do that. That's what I had to do to turn them off the horn when locking...but kept my lights to flash. Probably the same for the unlock options....that was on my 2018 Bighorn 1500. Do you have the 8.4 screen?

That would be too easy. Mines a 2001 so no infotainment system.
Thanks anyway

Ok, I'm intrigued. Nobody have any of the other programming instructions?
The driver's door first for unlock and turning on the flash on lock seem to be well guarded secrets I guess.
LOL

I know someone here has to have the instructions for a 2001 1500 somewhere.
I'd greatly appreciate someone sharing.

Ok, found a lot of interesting programming information on this site. (Sorry for the link to another forum but it's got a lot of info on this topic).
Only problem is most appear to be for 2002/3 and newer models.
I believe that for 2001 and earlier 2nd gen models the secret to programming is to be inside the truck, seatbelt fastened THEN go through the programming sequences.
The link is for horn on lock but on down there's one for park lights flash.
Haven't tried it yet.

Apparently things changed in programming sequence after 2001.

Maybe you should post this in the 2nd gen section.

Damn, thought I had.
Thanks for pointing that out.

Can a moderator please move this thread to the 2nd Gen section?

2002 Ram 1500 is a 3rd Gen, 2001 is a 2nd Gen

2003 Ram 2500 is a 3rd Gen, 2002 is a 2nd Gen

Heavy Duty Ram Generations normally change 1 year later than 1500s
