I changed the oil in the Pentastar today, and found this hose above the oil filter cap. The elbow was pointing to the rear instead of up. I never noticed it last change. Is this supposed to be hooked to something, or is it just a vent hose?

I believe it is the crankcase breather and it's supposed to look like that.

Thanks a lot guys. There is no vacuum on it at idle, so I thought it might be a breather, but I thought it would have some kind of filter on it if it was.

Anyway, it's back together and I'm filling out the paperwork to Blackstone for this trucks first oil analysis.
