So i found a 1986 dodge ram with a 360 on 42 inch tires. The guy says it gets 15-20 mpg. Is this even possible?! Perhaps different gear ratio in the axle or transmission? Thanks for the help.

He might mean 15-20 miles to the tank. There is no way a 360 is getting 20mpg, and no freakin' way it's getting that on 42s.

If you like the truck and there's nothing wrong with it you can always downsize on wheels.

Do you have a picture you can post?

If the picture is already online somewhere (i.e. facebook) you can do a right click on your mouse, "copy picture url" and do a right click and "paste" here in the forum.

Or you hit "reply" (Advanced, not quick reply) and go under "Manage Attachments", there you can upload your pictures from the computer.

Hope this helps.

It would get 15mpg, if pushed out of a C130. At 30,000'. With .050 gearsets. :bs:

My 318 is a MAGNUM. On 35's & 4.56's. And it gets 10mpg HWY. 6mpg CITY.

I ran 40's on a diesel geared to 4.88 and I would get 10-12 Mpgs. That guy is smoking crack.

Hi Op,

IF you are that concerned with the mileage you could always sell the wheels and tires and put some smaller ones on. That way you would the truck for $2500. But if not then that looks like a pretty nice truck. But because of his clearly exaggerated mileage claim i would definitely go over it with a fine toothed comb.
Good luck with the truck search,
