Brake Squeal

The brakes on this truck would squeal once in while during the first few thousand miles. Now, they squeal every time I press the brake. Actually, the only time that they don't squeal is the first application in the morning. After that first stop, they're back to squealing on every stop.

Does anyone have a sure fix for this? Do they just need the dust cleaned out?

It's probably from the rotors being glazed. It may be from light rust build up on the rotors. The usual cause for glazed rotors/pads is "riding the brakes" or too light of brake pressure while stopping.

My truck never had any brake squeal or noise until recently. Now they squeak occasionally just before coming to a dead stop. I have about 20k miles.

I have been driving offroad alot lately for work so its possible some dust/debris got in between the pads and rotors.

My wife has had this problem on the last three cars she's had. She notorious for slamming on the brakes and riding on the brakes. I've rarely had brakes ever squeal on me.

I talked to my dealership about my truck doing this. The guy said I could take off the pads and sand them (scuff them up), but it would most likely come back within 1,000 miles or so.

I have the same issue with my 2016 with about 11K miles.
Hitting the brakes hard clears the noise for a few stops, but then returns.

I have it on mine too and it started after around 23K miles. I took the brakes apart this weekend and clean the metal tabs that the pads sit in. I also used lube on the metal clips. They stopped for about a day and a half and now are right back to squealing. It is driving me nuts !!!!!

my brakes squeal too.

2016 tradesman . 13,000 miles

seems if i drive in reverse a bit the squeal goes away for a awhile....

My 2013 ram did it too. I put on wagner ceramic pads. Stopped it.
