Has anyone lowered a new coilspring truck? Im not talking about a lot, just 2"-3".
We have 2 trucks and 4 trailers, the extra jacking is a pain. Trailer equalizers are about out of travel on the shorter truck. Very important not to drop the jack legs to far on the 14 or you won't be able to pick them up on the 05.

Maybe clip half a loop off the coils? Any thoughts?

Only way to bring the 2500 lower is by trimming springs, nobody makes a lowering spring for it, unless you want to install an air suspension of course.

You'd have to trim front a rear coils, or get air helpers for the rear.
Why not get a drop hitch?

We were able to adjust Dad's equalizer hitch for his '14 2500 and it sits nice'n'level.

Sorry I forgot to mention 3 of the 4 are gooseneck, and by equalizers I ment trailer leaf spring equalizer. Drop hitches and weight distribution hitches won't help me.

Thanks

Fixed the first trailer, cut nearly 3" off the neck.

What about lifting the 05 a little bit? Some lift blocks and a level kit would be cheep enough and may be easier.

Or do an air kit in the back of the 05 instead of a lift kit, and that will help you with towing anyway, and it brings the back up a little when it is all pumped up.

Interesting, I don't think I have ever seen a short bed with a flatbed before...

Lifting the 05 is not an option, the truck works fine and it has worked fine for 9 years. It doesnt sag bad enough to need air bags. If it was taller, the cattle trailer would need be taller. Then it would be harder to load and unload cattle. The problem is an excessively tall 14.

After you own a flatbed truck, you wonder how you put up with a pickup bed. Load with a forklift from 3 sides, insurance is lower, gooseneck can't get into bed sides, (used to be) able to latch a trailer while standing beside the truck, 46 ft^2 of usable floor, tailgate theft is nearly non existent (pine 2"x6"), easily haul over width and over length.
