2013 Ram 1500 2WD Build Thread

Well I think its time i finally make one of these things
i bought my truck new in july
first thing i did when i brought her home was plasti dip the rims and mount a 20" light bar and a flag
about 3 weeks in i decided i had had enough of those stock tires and bought some 285 70 17 nitto terra grapplers on some mb rims.
the next day I had a job sight on the beach to repair an ocean bleedoff pipe and got my truck stuck :roflsquared:

After getting backed into i decided i wanted a bull bar fro protection so i mounted one up and welded my light bar onto that

Took her offroading and got caught up on a rock which destroyed the bullbar, was only mounted for 27 hours.
took her mudding for the first time
and added some more lights
decided i was going to plasti dip my whole bumper and then decided i didnt like it haha

added some fender flares but hated them with the sport bumper
always make time to have some fun offroading

so i decided i wanted a lift so i got some 4.5" maxtrac spindles on top of my 2.5" leveling kit, and their 3" coil spring rear kit.
obviously tires were wayyyy too small.
had some modeling with my truck :naughty:

decided i wanted a different look so I mounted a 40" light bar in my lower grill and put my 20" inside behind my grill with some rigid pods.
i found some used 37's for cheap so i threw those on until i could afford some new rubber. 37" bfg km2 mu terrains

took her to big bear
Had my stock upper control arms die on me. the upper control arm cracked and the ball joint popped completely out so it was time for some new upper control arms so i went with icon vehicle dynamics uniball
added some limit straps to prevent this from happening again
and back at it getting sideways
and night time offroading trips with my friends

finally saved up enough money to get some new tires
Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ 305 12.50 17
and also did the black headlight housing myself with 55w hids and white led canbus turn signals
got to do some work on the santa ana riverbed so of course had to snap a pic
saved up for some oracles and fabricated some mounts for some hood mounted pods.
then wanted to do something different so i mounted a pod as my highbeam directly wired up to my stock high beam

as i had my fun already taking my truck well beyond its limits i rarely off road now and treat my truck like a street queen but on special occasions i will take her out
put some tow mirrors on and painted the chrome cap white
just occasionally go up to big bear and see some of the wonderful views they have up there
and the most recent mod to this date is I installed a 8.4" radio in place of my 5.0 and added steering wheel controls.
I dont know why some of he pictures are sideways so sorry for that. I didnt really know how to do this build page haha just kinda my trucks build from the day i got it til now. Future mods are front cam, nav, and possibly some custom fox 2.0 resevior shocks.

Nice truck bro! When you bought the rear coil springs did you have to buy new shocks as well?

The kit came with new longer shocks. They are just oil based shocks. I'll be replacing them with bilstein 5100's here shortly

I never realized your truck was 2WD. All those pics out in the dirt I thought she was a 4WD. She looks sharp regardless. Nice work. :waytogo:
