I bought the oem remote start for my 2015 ram. I installed the hood latch sensor routed antenna wire. Left the back seat loose so the deale r could install and program the new module.
This is were it gets interesting. ....
I picked my truck up. Remote start worked. However the dealer never installed the new module. I took it back and had them install the module and program again.
Here's the a ha moment though...
You can do remote start WAY cheaper than buying the add on oem kit. (minus the extended range antenna)
1. Buy key fob with remote start button
2. Get a hood switch or simply ground terminal to the BCM under drivers side dash (top left plug pin#11)
3. Have dealer enable remote start code XBM and program new fob.
Done!
